I am Thankful

My legs sometimes
give out and I might fall,
but I am thankful
that I can walk.

My hands are too spastic
to do simple tasks
but I am thankful
because most tasks
I can find a way to do them.

My speech is difficult
 to understand and sometimes
nobody is able to understand me,
 but I am thankful
that I can communicate.

My struggles are gifts from God.
Each gift makes me the person
I am today and the person
I am going to become.

Once we accept
our gifts we accept
God’s will for us,
and we would
find true inner peace.

That is why
I am thankful.
