What Does Christmas Mean?

It was a week
before Christmas,
 and a friend of mine
 asked me
if I would like to go
look at Christmas lights.

I answered,
 “Sure I would love to.”
I thought
it might get me into
the Christmas spirit.

All that week
I was praying
for a deeper
understanding of
the meaning of Christmas.

We saw a lot of
nice places that were lit up
with beautiful lights.
There were places that had Santa
 and his reindeer.

As we were driving around
and listening to carols
on the radio,
I thought this is nice
but it doesn’t do anything for me.

Then, the radio was playing
Holy Night
when we were driving
by a Nativity scene.

The true meaning of Christmas
is in that Nativity scene.
Jesus Christ was born.
