One Night

One night many years ago
a baby was born
after a day of traveling.

His parents couldn’t find
a room at the inn,
so they laid
their heads in a barn
between the animals.

That holy night
many years ago
a lady gave birth
to a boy named Jesus.

This little baby was
son of God
 born to save
the world.

Each year
people all over the world
take one day
to celebrate his birth.

To think
about that holy night,
when Jesus Christ entered
the world as a baby.
