My name is Charles Breunig and I have Cerebral Palsy since birth. Cerebral Palsy (CP) affects my speech, legs and my arms. My speech is difficult to understand. People who do not know me would understand me about 25 to 45 percent. Friends and family would understand me about 50 to 95 percent of the time. No one could understand me 100 percent except God.
I have something called LinkPlus. A LinkPlus is a small computer to speak for me. I type out what I want to say. This is helpful when I am out alone and helpful to have it with me when I am driving my car. The LinkPlus is sometime difficult to use because it takes time to use and people need to be patient.
My hands and arms are very spastic. I use my left hand to do almost everything. I cannot hand write. I sign my name with a “C” with my left hand. I use a computer to write. My keyboard has a key guard. A key guard is something over the keys with a hole for each key. This lets me press one key at a time. I can’t feed myself but I can drive a car.
I am able to walk around but I still use a wheelchair for long distances. I walk like a drunk but I don’t drink. I sometime fall down or hit the wall.
My outlook on life is to look at what I can do, not at what I cannot do. Each of us has our own difficulties that we have to face, mine are visible. I enjoy being as independent as possible, and enjoy each day, one day at a time.
God has blessed me with his grace all my life. He gave me a gift of poetry writing. I wrote over 120 poems about my journey through life and how God calls people to have personal relationships with him.
I have written poems for 25 years. On this Inspirational page you will find Christian and Inspirational products that I have created. They include an unique 2012 Poetry Prayerful Calendar, 5 Types of Notepads, grocery list style notepad, over 80 different Bookmarks. In 2010 I put together a book of poetry called Poetry Prayers, Talking With God.
